Take a look at Soete Swaan
The young people learn to develop products and services that they can use to create income. For example, companies in the area order lunch for their employees from Rainbow Catering. The Soete Swaan syrup waffle bakery is also part of the Skills Center. Orders are coming in from all over the country for these delicious syrup waffles. In this way, the young people learn how to handle money and we hope to eventually place them with local businesses and organizations.
Rainbow Village
In the middle of the slums of Humansdorp stands Rainbow Village, a special center for children and youth with various disabilities or disadvantages. Rainbow Village consists of:
- Rainbow Centre – special education school
- Rainbow Angels – day care for children with multiple handicaps
- Skills Centre – social workshop for young people with disabilities or distance from the labor market
- Foster homes – a safe home for children from unsafe home situations.
