Thulisa is one of the teachers at Rainbow Angels. Her daughter Alunga is a student there. Despite her limitations, Alunga has made tremendous progress and has even learned to read. She enjoys it tremendously!
Last May, Thulisa and Alunga experienced something terrible: a fire broke out in their house due to an explosion. Thulisa was just able to wheel Alunga outside in her wheelchair, but nothing else could be saved. The few pieces of furniture and belongings they had, including Alunga’s braces: they lost it all.
The news of this tragedy went viral in The Netherlands. Within a few days, many people learnt of their need and asked to donate. All this generosity blew us away. We decided to create the Victory4All Emergency Fund, specifically for tragedies like these. All these donations towards this fund made it possible to help Thulisa and Alunga start over: we have found a temporary place for them to live, while we continue to look for a more permanent solution. We were also able to help them with buying new clothing, furniture and other necessities.
In fact, so much was given that we can continue to use this fund to help staff members and learners at our schools and programs who are facing urgent (medical) difficulties. There are a few situations that we are currently looking into. It would be great to help several families who have nowhere else to turn. We are grateful for all the donations from around the world that makes this possible. Please consider donating specifically towards this emergency fund, so we can support them and others in the future.
